Laura's birthday (Nov 19) fell on a big DN football weekend -- UM-OSU & Illini-NU. Lousy results on the field, but a great day to celebrate a wonderful woman. On Sunday we shared birthday cake and gifts with Momma D. Unfortunately, because Laura was blowing being sung to and blowing out candles, while I was lighting candles and singing, we have no photographic evidence of the event. We do, however, have a cute picture from the day of Gertie with a gift from Momma D (actually an anniversary gift, but it is still a cute picture). And last Saturday morning Laura used my gift -- a morning at a fancy European spa.
But wait, there's more. The next weekend the Huntington family came to town to see our new home and community for the first time and to celebrate Thanksgiving with us (more on that very soon) and we celebrated Laura's birthday again. More singing and a new, but very familiar chocolate cake were enjoyed by all. The top pic shows Laura and the cake-baker with the cake and the final pic shows Charlie making a birthday appearance as Laura celebrates blowing out the candles with one breath.
Happy Birthday Laura!
