Donoghue Holiday Spectacular

The house was decorated, the tree was trimmed and the cupcakes were frosted. The only thing that had changed was the location and the Annual Donoghue Spectacular was as good as ever. The DN carefully prepared a guest list and, in addition to the usual Evite, even printed individual invitations (on actual paper) and went door-to-door through our new neighborhood inviting our neighbors. The result was a packed house and lots of holiday cheer. It was especially nice to meet many of our neighbors and to show everyone our new house -- somehow a chance to tour a neighbor's home is always a big draw. :)

A strong contingent from Midland also made the journey. Momma D and Maia arrived first and helped us get ready by entertaining Gertie. And not far behind them were Jesse, Erik & Miles. It was great to see them. We were very appreciative that they were able to make the trip, and not just because of all of the baby stuff they sent along with Momma D for us. Thanks guys!

And last but very far from least, good friend & Maid of Honor Sanya joined us from Chicago for the weekend. She and Laura spent Saturday morning "preparing" at Margot's European Spa and then spent the afternoon in the kitchen preparing a feast for our guests. Throughout the night Sanya also operated the kitchen and took care of our guests like they were her own. Thank you Sanya, it was really nice to spend the weekend with you. You are welcome any time.

I wish I were there!! Those cupcakes look incredible. Oh, and the company too, to hang out with Dave and L-dog and meet up with the rest of the gang.
