We Love You Mom!

Laura's first Mother's Day has been a real transition. Laura revels in motherhood everyday, growing Charlie into a healthy, thriving child. But Mother's Day has always been about her Mom (and now Moms), not about her. This year though, as I tried to remind her, she deserves some of the attention and adoration that comes with Mother's Day.

Charlie and I planned (to the extent that we can plan anything since Charlie's arrival) a day of Mom adoration and love. Unfortunately, the day could not fully express the appreciation we (& I feel confident I can speak for Charlie on this point) feel for the job that Laura does with Charlie and her general role as the glue that binds the DN. So, this post is a back up plan to express our appreciation more directly and publicly. As you can see from the pictures, Laura is many things to the DN: a Mom, a BEAUTIFUL Wife (as shown on the shores of the Big Island almost four years ago), a Dog-Mom and a Sleepasaurus Rex -- although Charlie has cut into that role significantly -- among many others.

Laura, we love you more than we can express, as Mom, as Wife, as partner and as so much more. Thank you for all that you do and for all of the roles that you play in our lives. You give so much to us and we appreciate that every day, but especially on Mother's Day, or several days later when we finally have time alone with the home computer to put the post together.
