The D
N joined the Donoghue side of the family to celebrate Christmas Day. Momma D's home was filled with good cheer and lots of animals -- at least three dogs and a cat (sometimes four dogs and two cats, depending on who was visiting). Everyone had a great time. The DN finally got to see Sarah's beautiful engagement ring. Dr. Dave and Sarah got engaged over Labor Day -- no official word on the wedding date yet, but we hear rumors that it will be set soon and the DN cannot wait. We shared Christmas dinner with Jesse, Erik, Maia, Miles, and other wonderful neighbors from Momma D's 'hood. The dogs mostly got along, although Gert was a little intimidated by Tuk (Sarah and Dave's Great Dane/Lab with a sweet temperament and shiny black coat). Fido mostly enjoyed ear rubs, the kitchen and Fido-height windows. Fido also enjoyed making himself comfortable on his Grandma's lovely tree skirt (see first photo). Even Finnegan the cat got into the holiday spirit "helping" Dave bake gingerbread carrots by standing guard on top of the fridge and intermittently swatting at him. (The DN could not find holiday-appropriate cookie cutters, and improvised with a carrot-shaped cookie cutter from Momma D's Easter collection.)
