Oak Park Farmers' Market
One of the quirks that makes Oak Park Oak Park is that OP'ers go to the farmer's market for ... donuts. Not fresh-from-the-earth vegetables, fruits, or flowers. Donuts. Upon moving here, many a neighbor has emphatically insisted that we visit the farmers' market for donuts. That seemed crazy to me until Charlie and I waited in line with Matt, Francis, and Georgie last weekend for the most heavenly cinnamon donuts I have ever tasted. (And I don't even like donuts.) So this weekend the entire DN trekked to the farmers' market, waited in a ridiculously long line, and enjoyed some mighty tasty donuts. Charlie was puzzled -- I don't think he's ever had a donut before, and he wasn't too impressed. But he did have fun running around and practicing walking up and down stairs like a big boy.
