The Dog Stalker

Have you heard of Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer - "he rehabilitates dogs and trains humans"? Cesar has become a new DN favorite since our neighbor Nicole introduced us to his National Geographic show (although I have to admit we laugh about much of the show). There is a huge dog market growing in America. People are having children later in life and filling that void by caring for their dogs (& cats) like they were children. The DN has little room to judge people on that point, so we are going to stay away from it, but we are considering adding a new offering to the market. We are planning a new reality-based television program -- sorry Debbie, but if it goes anywhere we will hire you to script as much of it as possible -- The Dog Stalker.

The premise is simple, the beautiful young host will walk the streets of Anytown, USA with her dashing infant son and sophisticated husband. When she sees a cute dog, even if it is blocks away and headed in the opposite direction, she will come up with a scheme for "casually" running into the dog without letting the owners see her running to catch up to them. Throughout the process, her enabler husband will reassure her that it is not crazy and that no one will feel uncomfortable if they catch her racing up to their dog. Once the plan is set and the enabling successful, our beautiful, young host will hand the stroller off to her husband and begin the stalking. The stalk will end with her catch-phrase "Can I pet your dog? He is so cute."

The pics are from the storyboard for our pilot "The Dog Stalker Meets a Miniature Dachshund." Watch out Cesar, here we come. . . .

Genius. How did you ever come up with it?
