This is my favorite picture of Fido. In August 2003, after a grueling six-week jury trial, the DN celebrated the resounding victory in Midland with Oreo ice cream cake and hamburgers in Jess and Eric's backyard. Earlier that day Fido wandered into the neighbor's garden, which earned him the sturdy stake pictured here. His lead kept getting tangled in the patio furniture as he foraged for hamburger scraps.
