Charles Huntington Donoghue
Many of you reading this may be surprised to see a name so soon. Early on we decided to keep the naming process to ourselves. But after lots of thought and discussion, and "watching" Baby Donoghue via the ultrasound, we decided that his name will be: Charles Huntington Donoghue. We plan to call him "Charlie."
Huntington comes from our desire to reflect both sides of the extended DN in Charlie and in his name. By carrying the Huntington family name as his middle name, Charlie will always be tied to and reminded of both sides of his extended family.
We chose Charles in honor of Dave's maternal grandfather, Charles Mathews. Dave's grandpa died when he was quite young, but they were very close while he was living. We hope that one day little Charlie will stand at his father's work bench "helping" with projects, the way Dave stood at his grandfather's workbench "helping." And we hope that Charlie will grow up to be as well respected and loved as Grandpa Mathews was by those whose lives he touched.
